Planet Wortschatz is a creative language class geared toward German-speaking children ages 6 to 12. With the help of a diverse curriculum, children will explore various aspects of German language and culture while strengthening their vocabulary and connecting with their peers across the globe.

Meeting weekly in a secure virtual classroom in a group of no more than 10 children, students will talk, play, laugh and learn together. New topics are introduced by video, which can be accessed at your own convenience. Learning units are supplemented with creative activities, audio clips, worksheets and games that can be completed at home.

With the live session and various activities with Planet Wortschatz, your child will spent 2,5 hours a week engaging and immersing in the German language.

The topics for this year are:

The history of stories

1st section

We will find out why we tell stories and what a story needs. We will learn about feelings, heroes and monsters, letterpress printing, Braille and fairy tales.

The dream of flying

2nd section

Stories about flying have always been special and fascinating in the history of humanity. We will look at ancient role models like Icarus, follow the footsteps of the first aviation pioneers and then, thanks to modern space travel, explore our universe.

Explore the mythical sea

3rd section

We will dive into the sea to visit Neptune and his mermaids before the summer holidays arrive. Additionally, we will search for Atlantis, as well as previously undiscovered deep sea inhabitants and even meet up with the pirates across the sea.
